The Hamburg Cruise Days offer an unforgettable experience in one of Germany's grandest cities, so prepare to be wowed by a cruise event that is by far and away the best. Gaze in awe at the majestic ships and open your heart to the call of the cruise – these are three days devoted to all things maritime, to sumptuous food and quality entertainment. No fewer than seven liners are calling at Hamburg during the festival and will be anchored in the port.

The inaugural event was a success – this was the unanimous verdict on the first Hamburg Cruise Days of summer 2008, when more than 600,000 excited spectators from around the world witnessed the Elbe's transformation into a glittering open-air stage. Every two years since then, the docklands have become a maritime playground for the leisurely exploration of various theme islands: shopping, fashion and design, sport and relaxation, children's activities, markets, music, entertainment and food prepared by the city's best chefs. Experience the enchanting world of cruising on dry land between the two cruise terminals in HafenCity and Altona, or indulge your wanderlust on the water via the fleet of party ships at Hamburg Cruise Night on Friday evening or the grand Hamburg Cruise Days parade on Saturday evening.

Another mesmerising highlight is Blue Port by acclaimed lighting designer Michael Batz, who swathes the area from HafenCity to Neumühlen in the colour of the sky, of the sea and of longing.
